Top 10: Worst songs to play if your Grandma's new bed is a casket
Posted: November 13, 2017

Have you ever wondered what songs they’ll lay as people are filing into a room to surround your dead body? Or the songs your family will choose to be played in remembrance of your soul fleeing from your decomposing body? Or do you sometimes even wonder what songs you WOULDN'T want played. If you haven’t wondered this, what are your priorities? If you have wondered this question, so have I! This is also why I decided to interview 100 Mount Union students and ask them, “What three songs would you not want played at your funeral.”

So after the process of surveying the 100 students this is what I received:

(Order from least popular to most popular answer)

10. Ha Ha You're Dead by Green Day

9. Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC

8. No Heart by 21 Savage

7. 1-800-273-8255 by Logic

6. No Air

5. Congratulations

4. Happy Birthday

3. Happy by Pharrell Williams

2. Another One Bites The Dust by Queen

1. Stayin' Alive by The BeeGees

To generate the data for my top 10 list,I went out onto campus and surveyed 100 students. I made sure I wasn’t just asking one grade level or gender, which made the answers I received very different. After collecting the data I put all of my answers into the computer and generated a final list of the 10 most frequently answered songs.

Events on campus: Pottery palooza
Posted: October 20, 2017

Students painted their choice of either a bowl or a travel mug during this year's Pottery Palooza held during RPB's Mid-Week Madness, an event they host weekly.

More than 70 students showcased their artistic talent by painting a cereal bowl or travel mug with a handle. Raider Programming Board covered all costs involved in painting and firing the pieces, along with providing food for the event.

"Usually this is a really popular event so we have tickets this year, so we can know how many people are coming," said Elizabeth Jones, Raider Programming Board's midweek madness co-chair, a junior human development and family science and Spanish double major. "I'm going to paint a mug for my friend because it is her birthday and I'm cheap and I don't have any other gifts. She likes homemade stuff so it'll be good. I think it's going to be a fun time and I hope a lot of people come. It's definitely one of our more successful events."
