The Mount Union women’s basketball team struggled on offense in a 65-53 loss to Capital at home Saturday afternoon. It was senior day for the Purple Raiders as Hannah Schaefer, Zanny Sauter, and Kaela Jackson were all celebrated during pre-game.
The offense struggled all four quarters as the leading scorer was Elena Rauhe with 11 points, being the only member of the team to reach double digits. This loss dropped the Purple Raiders to 14-11 on the season and they finished with an 8-10 conference record. The Crusaders were led by Cassidy Bosch who had 16 points and helped the team dominate the first half. Mount Union started to comeback with a huge third quarter, but it was not to be when the struggles offensively returned in the fourth quarter.
Mount Union will open the conference tournament on the road against Ohio Northern this Tuesday at 7pm.
