West Branch vs Alliance

ALLIANCE, OH: On a beautiful night from West Branch High School, the Warriors were able to stay hot and defeat the Aviators of Alliance, 42-28. This was the first time in five years that West Branch has defeated Alliance and they now take back the Gary Andreani Loyalty Trophy.

The West Branch offense came into the game averaging 46.5 points per game and did not skip a beat in this contest. It started with a quick drive led by Senior Quarterback Brock Hillyer and was capped off with him finding Junior Nick Wilson in the back corner of the end zone to make it 7-0 Warriors. He would find Nick Wilson again for a 39-yard connection that would extend the lead to 14-0 very quickly. Alliance was able to find the end zone late in the first to make it 14-7, Warriors through one quarter.

Senior Alek Wilson would quickly find the end zone in the second quarter to make it 21-7 West Branch. Brock Hillyer would add two touchdowns on the ground in the second while Aviators Quarterback Brandon Alexander also ran one in and left West Branch with a huge 35-14 advantage heading into the half.

The third quarter started very slow and would take ten minutes of game time before we saw another score, which was a 32-yard touchdown caught by Senior Dylan Bugara. The score was then 35-21 and that would remain the score throughout the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was also dominated by defense and the first score of the quarter would come with 3:08 remaining in the form of a four-yard carry by Alek Wilson that would seal the win for the Warriors. The Aviators would add one more score with seconds remaining to give us the final score of 42-28 Warriors.

Alek Wilson was named the WRMU Player of the Game with two rushing touchdowns and a huge defensive presence in the backfield all night long.

The Aviators continue to find themselves on the wrong side as they fall to 0-3 on the season. For the Warriors, they take home the rivalry trophy and improve to 3-0 while their offense has now scored over 40 points in all three contests.
