What to Stream in Quarantine

Many of us have found a lot more free time on our hands in the last few weeks due to the statewide stay at home order in Ohio. Getting comfortable on the couch with your favorite snack and a fuzzy blanket while watching hours of your favorite shows or movies is almost unavoidable at this point. If you have already finished your favorite series, now is your chance to start something new. Here is a list of some of the most popular shows and movies being streamed right now.

Netflix

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness

This show has been flooding my social media timelines for the past week. The documentary style series follows cat breeder Joe Exotic and the business he created. However, what intrigues most viewers is the murder-for-hire story. If you are looking for a wild true story, Tiger King should be added to your list.

Coffee and Kareem

Young Kareem is not the biggest fan of his mom’s cop boyfriend Coffee. Kareem’s plan to completely get rid of Coffee backfires, and the two find themselves in a mess with a Detroit criminal. This Netflix original comedy might be the kind of stupid-funny you need to get you through another week of monotony.

Hulu

Parasite

Just added to Hulu, the Oscar winning film “Parasite” should not be overlooked. South Korean director, Boon Joon-ho created a true work of art with this film. "Parasite” highlights the struggles of the working class and how comfortable the rich can be through an unforgettable story. This film is intentionally crafted, and it will make you laugh and cry while keeping you at the edge of your seat.

Disney+

Onward

Due to the pandemic, Disney has released Onward and other films earlier than anticipated to their streaming platform. Onwardstarring Tom Holland and Christ Pratt, is about two brothers on a quest to find their father, who passed during their childhood, after being gifted his magical wizard staff. Like many Disney Pixar films, Onward will take you on an emotional, action-packed journey that is not only beautifully created but is fun to watch at any age.

Sonny with a Chance

First airing over 10 years ago, “Sonny with a Chance” has finally made its debut on Disney+. Demi Lovato stars in the Disney Channel sitcom that will surely pass time over the next few weeks. This show will allow you to not only reminisce on your childhood, but have you laughing all at once.

Amazon Prime

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

I have just recently started watching this show, and already, I have been captivated from the first scene. Based in 1950s New York, the story follows a young woman whose husband just left her. She constantly finds herself on stage performing comedy that gets her into trouble. This show is hilarious and still manages to share a meaningful story that highlights the power of women.
