A lot has happened in the Country Music World in 2019. New music has been released, summer tours have begun, and artists have announced music that will be released. This is an opinion based review of the Country Music World so far this year.
Recently, the Florida Georgia Line released their Cant Say I Ain't Country album making this their fourth studio album. Hits such as "Can’t Say I Ain't Country", "Talk You Out of It", "Simple", and "Women" can be heard on this album. Florida Georgia Line will be going on tour with Dan and Shay, and Morgan Wallen this summer. Ohio locals can see the musicians when they make their stop at Blossom Music Center, in Cuyahoga Falls, OH on Aug. 23 of this coming summer.
Maren Morris released her second album Girl on Mar. 8th of this year. Singles from the album include "Girl", and "The Bones". Morris is currently on her tour this summer with artists, Raelynn and Cassidy Pope. The tour began, on February 1, in Mexico. If you want to hear Morris live, she will stop in Pittsburgh on Apr. 25, and in Philadelphia on Apr. 26.
Though a very busy family man, country artist, Thomas Rhett, is still making time to headline concerts and record new music this year. Rhett recently recorded a new single, "Look What God Gave Her" and plans to release his fourth studio album in May. Rhett is headlining The Hot Summer Tour, featuring warm-up acts from his father Rhett Akins, Russell Dickerson, and Dustin Lynch. In June, Rhett will be headlining Country Fest. at Clay's Park in Canal Fulton, OH.
It has been a crazy last year and a half for Carrie Underwood. She underwent a facial reconstruction after slipping on ice in the fall of 2017, she recorded her Cry Pretty album in 2018, and won the CMA Female Artist of the Year award. On top of all of that, Underwood gave birth to a baby boy named Jacob this past January. It is safe to say that her life is very busy right now. Underwood will be touring in 2019. She will be featuring Maddie & Tae and Runaway June as warm-up acts on this tour.
George Strait has been a country music singer for over forty years, and just recently, he has released his newest album titled Honkytonk Machine making it the 13th studio album of Straits legendary career. Strait retired from touring five years ago, however he still does occasional concerts. Strait will be making an appearance at the Buckeye Country Superfest, in Columbus, OH on June 8th of this coming summer. This will be a concert you do not want to miss!
We are only four months into 2019, and in my opinion, it has already been an outstanding year for new country music. There are plenty of artists who plan to release new music as the year progresses. A few of these artists include Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Maddie and Tae, and Rodney Atkins. As a country music fan myself, I am beyond thrilled for all the new music coming out soon, and I cannot wait to listen.
