A Successful Event: Burgers and Fries with ADPis

On Wednesday, September 13th, the Gamma Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi held their annual Burgers and Fries With ADPi’s event on campus.

Unlike previous years, the sisters hosted a corn hole tournament alongside the event as an additional way to raise money. The official philanthropy of Alpha Delta Pi is Ronald McDonald House Charities. The sisters take their philanthropy very seriously, and make multiple trips per semester to the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland to make dinner and volunteer with the kids.

This year at Burgers and Fries, there was an added twist to the event. Alpha Delta Pi sister, Sarah Oakes, had the opportunity to do a Snapchat takeover of the Alpha Delta Pi Executive Office Snapchat account. The entire event was documented on the Snapchat account for thousands of viewers around the country to see. At one point, Sarah and her American Sign Language professor, Susan McConnell signed “We love ADPi and RMH” on camera and uploaded it to the Snapchat account. This prompted a deaf sister from across the country to respond with love and support for the event. Other sisters responded during the event with encouragement as well, and it was so inspiring for the Gamma Theta sisters to receive such support from their sisters all over the country.

The event was a major success, with a wide variety of students and faculty in attendance. In the end, over $2,000 was raised for the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi would like to thank everyone from the campus community for helping to make the event so successful!
