ALLIANCE, OHIO — This Saturday the Alliance community came together to raise money for the Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

The brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) hosted their annual charity volleyball tournament this past weekend. The tournament was a huge success boasting a 20 team bracket that ended up raising over $2,000.

This year’s tournament was the first to include a celebrity game between the Alliance Fire Department (AFD) and the Alliance Police Department (pictured left). Winning in 3 straight sets AFD took home the title and 35% of the proceeds donated to a charity of their choice. The fire department was playing for domestic violence awareness. At the end of the tournament 35% of all proceeds raised had been shared with the Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter.

The annual Volleyball Marathon is a day heavily anticipated by the campus community. Groups of both men and women came out to the event and supported Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Children's Miracle Network, and the Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter.

What’s better than coming together for a day filled with food, fun, charity, and some friendly competition? Look out next fall for sign ups!
