The sister of the Gamma Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi (ADPi) hosted their annual Pie-a-Pi philanthropy event on Wednesday, March 14 also known as National Pie Day. The event was held at Campus Grounds from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Throughout the day, sisters of ADPi volunteered in shifts to be pied by campus members and invited other chapter presidents from the other fraternities and sororities to participate in shifts as well, to draw in more students. Sisters could get pied for $1 while chapter presidents were $2. Approximately 80 students attended the event and ADPi raised $230 for the Ronald McDonald House, the chapter’s philanthropy.
“I feel as though the event went very well, we had a lot of members from other organizations attend the event with the encouragement of being able to ‘pie’ their own presidents.” Says Philanthropy Chair Mallory Shellenberger. “It was nice having the other presidents participate in our event and I hope we continue with that for years to come.”
After successful philanthropy event, the sisters are planning for the annual ADPi 5k which is on Saturday, April 28.
