ALLIANCE, OH – As November comes around, the Interfraternity Council (IFC) wants to remind men in fraternities and around campus what healthy masculinity is. This upcoming weekend, Casey J. Cornelius will be coming to Mount Union to give his keynote speech called, Be the Man; A Movement for Healthy Masculinity.
Cornelius has emerged as a leading voice for the topic of healthy masculinity. As fraternities in the media continue to struggle with the positives of Greek life, Cornelius decided to act and go across the country to talk to students at institutions about the meaning of healthy masculinity. Campuses and organizations across the nation have partnered with Casey to help improve environments and to engage men in society in a healthy way.
"(Be The Man) allows young men to break the walls of awkwardness and talk about issues we all face. Being able to understand how we influence one another in even the smallest of ways can create an interfraternal culture capable of positive change." Alex Champagne, Iowa State University.
This Saturday at 12:00pm in the chapel, the fraternity community will gather to observe this keynote. IFC hopes to see everyone there and that they all take a little bit away from this to help them engage men in their environments in a healthy way.
IFC is also opening this up to the entire campus community so if you want to stop by, you’re more than welcome too!
